Sausage and Apple Grits

image

Ingredients
Sausage (I used an apple and Gouda sausage)
2 apples, peeled and cubed
Onions, chopped
2 tbsp water
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Grits

Preheat the oven to 375°. Put the sausages in the oven to bake for about 45 minutes. In the meantime, place the water and apple cider vinegar in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the apple cubes and chopped onion. Stir until both are soft and tender. Cook the grits in another pot (I just added the grits to boiled water until nice and thick). Serve and enjoy!

Who says Halloween snacks need to be bad for you!? You can make fun healthy treats – like these Chatter Teeth 😁

Caramel Cream Cheese Appetizer

Last night, I made a sweet appetizer for a party……….. and I didn’t take a picture! I can’t believe it. However, I assure you, this appetizer is super delicious, super cute, and super easy to put together.

Ingredients
8 oz cream cheese [I got the 1/3 less fat one]
Caramel
Toffee bits
2 large apples
Pretzels

Step one: place the cream cheese square in the middle of the serving dish. Step two: cut up your apples into slices and put the apples and pretzels around the cream cheese like a circle. Step three: drizzle caramel covering the entire cream cheese square. Step four: sprinkle the toffee bits over the caramel [my vote is – go toffee crazy! I love it].

With your light apple pieces and pretzels, there’s less guilt about eating something that’s heavier like chips [what people usually use for dips]. Plus it’s perfect for this sweet dip! ENJOY.
